Does mailpoet not send an automatic email to new subscribers?

I created a welcome email and a post notifications email to send to my subscribers when my website is ready. I already have subscriber forms set up on my site and I tested it out on my personal email. Instead of sending the welcome email I created it sent a “confirm subscription” email. It seems that I had to manually send the email I created. I don’t want to do this when my website grows, I want it to send automatically. How could I set it up so that my new subscribers immediately gets my welcome email?
