[Plugin: EG-Series]-Can’t creat series

  • Hello,

    I installed EG series, activated it and now I can’t seem to actual add series.

    I clicked on post > EG Series Edit > then I get to a page “/wp-admin/edit.php?page=egs_series_edit” with one message

    EG-Series Series Editor
    No serie available yet

    . The rest of the page is blank. There is nothing, no buttons that I could press to create/add a new series.

    I then tried going to a post and I don’t see that little folder in the screenshot. I went to settings…in short, I have no idea how to create a series, despite the examples. I read everything, I even deactivated

    • Exclude Pages from Navigation
    • Inline Posts
    • Monsters Editor for WP Super Edit
    • Multi-page Toolkit

      • and I had not luck. What do I do? Are there known conflicts with other plugins? or is there anything I should change?

    Oh, so after deactivating all of the plugins above, I was able to see the folder, but when I added a new series and clicked insert, I got nothing. zip zero.

    Hi Riffard,
    First of all, you cannot create serie from the page “EG-Series Edit”. Just because I use custom fields to manage series. So a serie exists only if it is associated with a post.

    Then, to see the EG-Series box in the “Post Editor” page, you have to check the option “Use metabox to enter the series, rather than enter custom fields manually” (second checkbox in the option page).

    To create a serie: in the EG-Series metabox, just enter the name of the serie. The serie will be create while post will be saved or published.

    After, you will see the combox with the name of your serie.

    I don’t use none of the plugins you mention, and didn’t performed with them, so I can’t say if there is a conflict. I didn’t have any comments or complaints about this kind of issue neither.

    thank you for the swift reply. This wasn’t clear to me, but I am going to do what you said and see if I have better luck. I will get back to you so that you’ll know as well as future users of the plugins.
