Author is voter by default, unwanted voter updates

    Hi there,

    I am new using your plugin and really love the ideas!

    I have a question/problem though: I have set up voter notifications, but have noticed that as an author, you’re a voter by default. Even if the author doesn’t click the thumbs up.

    For that reason, when the idea of an author changes status (for example open > approved), the author receives two emails:
    1. The ‘author update’
    2. The voter update

    Is there a way to either filter the author from voter updates OR stop the author from giving a thumbs up by default?

    Hi Lieke,

    The idea author can just unvote their idea if they want to.

    We don’t currently have an option of preventing this initial vote. So far you are the first person to raise this, however if I get more feedback on this I would be happy to provide a solution of some kind.

    If you get the pro version, I would be happy to do a customisation for you complimentary.

    Thanks a lot for your quick response! Interesting that I’m the first one noticing this. When I tested around a bit, I got an overwhelming amount of e-mails, haha!

    For now, I’ll adjust the text a bit in the voter e-mails (unlike to unsubscribe). I want to keep this version around for a while and see if it’s used enough and to my liking. Will re-evaluate the pro version in a couple of weeks.
