I have two almost identical wordpress sites (one is literally a clone of the other with a different name for marketing testing)
I have the Google site kit(all working) on both but on one of the sites I get an error that adsense has detected an ad blocker, the adsense account is active and I can update ads but I just can figure out this issue. I have set up both sites on adsense.

I am using the same browser for both sites, and do not have an adblocker anyway. I never had this issue at all with the first site (the second was cloned about a week later)

I have disabled all plugins except for site kit, but that makes no difference. I have removed and re-installed site kit, but still the same !

I have read through the other issues on adblockers, but none seem to relate to this.

    Any suggestions ?

    @rj2021 thanks for reaching out!

    1) You may have tried this, but just to confirm: does the message appear when you view the site in an incognito browser window?

    2) When you created the clone of the first site (the second site) was Site Kit configured at that point or did you reset/ freshly install the plugin on the second site?

    Thanks for the reply.

Same issue occurs in incognito, I have also tried with Firefox and Edge browsers, just in case.

I have removed, re-installed 3 times now with no difference.

Any more ideas anyone ?? I have tried the Google Adsense help page, and they sent me here !

    @rj2021 thanks for the update!

Could you send your Site Health information through this form, so we can inspect your setup for anything that could be involved?

In some cases, a few users have been able to get around this by trying from a different device previously.

    Form has been sent.

    Thanks for looking at this.

@rj2021 thanks for sending the information over.

It seems the Site Health Info for Site Kit isn’t matching the website URL provided in the form. I’m curious if the Site Health for the first site without the issue was provided instead?

The site info provided shows that Adsense is connected, approved and Site Kit’s snippet is inserted which I can see in the source code.

For the other site, I see the Adsense snippet has been manually inserted. Could you double check and feel free to resubmit the information if required?

In the meantime, there are several optimization services and plugins that look to be applied to the sites which may be a factor. On the site with the issue, could you temporarily disable the outside services and use the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin to enable its troubleshooting mode for the site? This mode disables active plugins and switches to a default theme safely since it only affects the experience of the logged-in user.

    – Please enable the Site Kit plugin and let me know if the issue is present.
    – Enabling plugins and your theme one by one in this mode may help pinpoint if something else is involved.
    – Note you can disable troubleshooting mode from the plugins page.

    Hi again,
I provided the site health for both sites in case it helped you spot an issue, so I may have given the wrong url initially – sorry.

I had manually inserted some adsense code before I realized the site kit adsense wasn’t working. Again, I have removed it and tried to connect, but no difference.

I have used the health check plugin several times already, disabling all other plugins, and also one by one to try and eliminate something whilst site kit was running, but nothing made any difference.

That’s the confusing thing- I have the same plugins on the original site but have never had an issue. I literally have the two site dashboards open side by side in the same browser and no hint of an adblocker !

Thank you for your continued help though.

@rj2021 thanks so much for the update! That is definitely unusual.

For the site with the issue, could you check for any browser console errors where you see the Adsense adblock notice?

I think you may be on to something !
I wasn’t sure if you meant check the console from dashboard or actual site so I’ve done both and the non-working site shows a few Google related errors
I’ve copied as screenshots, not sure if I can send images through here ?They are titlesd site/dashboard view

I appreciate your support with this – I am in no rush to fix this, so please don’t spend too much time on just helping me !

@rj2021 thanks so much for the screenshots! So there definitely looks like something is blocking scripts (and not just those related to the Google services) on the site.

In most cases, it would be some sort of browser extension/ configuration (maybe not a Adblocker in your case), but it is something locally in your environment because I don’t see those errors when checking the console on the site from the front end.

Have you tried to access the site and connect Adsense through another device in general?

    Hello again,
I decided to reinstall all my plugins again, including site kit and it now actually works properly !!

Nothing else changed and all the plugins are exactly the same as before, but for some strange reason, the site kit Adsense now connects with no error message.

Thank you so much for your support, I’m not sure how it was fixed but without your ideas and support I would just have left it alone.

    Thanks again !!

@rj2021 thanks for the update and I’m glad to hear that workaround resolved it!

Enjoy Site Kit on the sites and if you’d like, leave a review about your experience.
