    Hi,

My website has been performing very slow in the last number of months. I am worried that I have too many plugins/services that are doing the same thing and are contributing to the slow site speed.

I have WP-Rocket installed on my website for caching and optimisation purposes – Javascript/CSS minification, lazyload images, etc.

I also have Wordfence installed for security purposes. And, I use Cloudflare CDN which has been integrated with WP-Rocket according to their setup guidelines.

In addition to both of these plugins I have advertisements from Ezoic displayed on my website. They have a Site Speed Accelerator application (more info here: [links redacted] which they have recommended I switch on to help combat the slow site speed issues. They also provide a caching service that I use.

Is the combination of plugins/services above potentially causing more harm than good?

Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Don’t double up on caching/optimization plugins. They’re either duplicating work or stepping on each other. If you’re using wp-rocked and Cloudeflare, you don’t need another.

    Hi Steven,

    Thanks for the quick reply.

That makes sense. So keep WP-Rocket and Cloudflare. How about Wordfence? As that is more security-related, I am assuming that a combination of WP-Rocket, Cloudflare and Wordfence should be a good solution?

I thought that with the Ezoic-specific optimization and caching features, that they might address issues specific to the advertising program, that would not be addressed by WP-Rocket. But I guess WP-Rocket and Cloudflare are already doing enough in this regard?

Lastly, Cloudflare has been integrated with both WP-Rocket and Ezoic respectively. I assume that this would not be causing any issues? Is it advised to have Cloudflare integrated with both WP-Rocket and Ezoic?

    Thanks again for your help.

Wordfence is a security plugin; I use it on all my sites. I know nothing about Ezoic. You might ask them (or wp-rocket) if the two plugins should be run at the same time.

    Hi Steven,

That’s perfect – thanks for clarifying.

    All the best
