White screen of death!!!

  • I’m working on a MAC version OSX 10.4.11. I’m having a problem with using themes not included in the wordpress download. I uploaded the new theme changed the header and then refreshed it only to be greeted with a blank white screen. But then nothing worked and I cant activate any theme or get back to the admin page, its all just a blank white screen. Theme Im trying to use is YesTilo. Also are there less (WSOD) problems with earlier versions? if so what one? Thanks

  • you probably messed something up, and now your theme doesn’t work.

    It’s not a wordpress issue at all

    You need to ftp into your server, or use file manager if your host has it. Get into WP directory->wp-content->themes and then delete or rename the folder of the theme you were using. That’ll set you back to the default WP theme and get you back in

    I’ll try, but I don’t think thats the case. I’ve reinstalled the entire program a few times with the same result, and im working of a local host, WSofD seems to be a WP problem, or maybe a plugin issue with my theme. I don’t think its something I did. But thanks

    I also seem to be able to reinstall the config_php file and then it will work, but only untill i change a theme, then WSofD. That happens when i change to any theme too.
