    Hi,
I’m working with a local business in the UK who hand-deliver products. Their location is on the border where multiple postcode districts/sectors (https://www.bph-postcodes.co.uk/guidetopc.cgi) meet so the delivery areas are very awkward in that not even one complete district/sector falls within their delivery area.

It seems that I will need to pull all the individual postcodes to create each zone ??

Are there any limits or performance issues for inputting many (possibly into the thousands!) of postcodes into Woocommerce to define regions / zones?

    Thanks

    Hello @phirefly!

There’s no restriction for the amount of postcodes you can use in a shipping zone. You can list them one by one or add a range or use a wildcard.

    More about it here: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/setting-up-shipping-zones/#section-3

It’s possible to face performance issues with thousands of postcodes listed though (something like slow loading of certain pages). However, using range or wildcards could help avoid that.

    I hope this helps!

Thanks @battouly – I understand the wildcards, sadly they don’t work in this scenario for the central zone(s) whereby 5 postcode districts meet.

Are 800 postcodes in one zone likely to present a performance issue?

    Thanks

@phirefly It’s hard to evaluate performance based on blanket/fixed figures. Performance very much variates from site to site, as it is largely dependable on the resources of your site’s server.

My suggestion would be to actually go ahead and test it out on your site, so that you can see how it works and whether the postcodes slow down the checkout process at all.

    Hi @phirefly

I hope you were able to test that out successfully!
