How to convert a block of text into 2 columns

Hello,
Here is some specific information:

I added the following 2 pieces of text into WPBakery block of text and used the Lightweight Grid Columns plugin to create two columns but it still displays as a single column:

[lgc_column grid=”50″ tablet_grid=”50″ mobile_grid=”100″ last=”false”][/lgc_column]

Thank you but when I copied the above into the text block, it still is one column.
Any suggestions?

p.s. I know how to make 2 columns in html but when I use html it doesn’t work in the wpbakery text block.

Your quotation marks are the wrong type: You used ” instead of ” (below works fine).
