    a few months ago I cancelled my subscriptions to the popup builder and the mailchimp extension yet they still charged me once more for a subscription. I have been trying to use chat to talk to them on their website but no response. They had previously stuffed up a renewal too. So their administration and customer service is hopeless. My account says one of the subscriptions is cancelled, yet they still charged me for it, and the other is still active but paused, and I can do nothing to change that.

    It is very sad for us to see this review.

    We are sorry you spent the time you mentioned on the documentation and got frustrated as a result.
    Now, let us address this.

    The Newsletter has the First Name, Last Name placeholders in the default template. This means that if you collected the First Name and Last Name data from your subscription form and stick to the default form, the personalized First Name and Last Name would have been included in the emails sent.
    We are not sure how else you would have liked to personalize the First Name other than the name the subscribers themselves filled in. So, please, clarify this part if possible. It is very important for us to understand this in order to make both the feature usage and the documentation clearer.

    As for the options: there are lots of options with the free version which can be used. The free version options are used by thousands of our customers and help them reach the goals they need with the popup. But of course, some options are paid. If you wish we can discuss the free-pro version via direct messages since here we can just discuss the free version.

    Although we are sad to see this review, this is also a motivation for us to work better and harder to improve the documentation. Please believe us when we say this that your feedback will be taken into account for sure. We are in the process of improvements at this very moment as well.

    Hi

    I am not sure if I have been clear. There is an option on the popup builder to send a newsletter. There does not seem to be a default option on it. When I enter this in the newsletter post:

    Hi [First Name],

    Just a test that the newsletter subscription is working.?

    The receiver of the newsletter gets exactly that, no name after the Hi.

    If there is a default option in the newsletter, how do I see it?

    apologies to you guys, I am just tired and making mistakes. it should be [First name] with a lower case n for name. I will delete this review after you acknowledge you have read this.

    Not a problem, thanks for your clarification.

    We have an assumption you sent a test and that’s why didn’t see the name. There is simply no first name data for “Send Test” option so it can be populated in the placeholder.

    But in real emails the name is visible.
    We would be very glad if you reconsidered this review.
