changing permission of file .htaccess denied

  • If i try to chanf the permission of my .htaccess file i received the following message:
    550 CHMOD 744 .htaccess: Operation not permitted

    I always change my .htaccess file and this kind of error it is never occured, changing permission file of others files on the main root is possible.
