    1. Customise the e-mail people get when they tip.
    2. Customise how the form looks, other than just the text (colour of background, etc).
    3. When someone enters an e-mail, if they are already logged in, it will ignore the e-mail they entered and will send the receipt to their logged-in e-mail.
    4. The Stripe payment description is set as the title of the payment box. This should be customisable to something else. I have the heading as “Have you found this post helpful? Please consider buying me a coffee!” to grab attention, but that makes no sense as a Stripe description.
    5. On the “open in-place” option, it would be good to be able to set a different form to the embedded form. Just because I already have a customised block of text asking people to tip me, but I don’t need that also to be in the expanded form. But I do need that content there for when I choose to just embed the form.
    6. On testing a payment, I got an “Email receipt failed to send. Please try again.” error, but I successfully received the receipt.
    7. Can we set transactions IDs to start from a number other than “1”? Just as it looks like you are not popular to tip!
    8. It would be great to be able to set different buttons that auto-populate different amounts in the amount box. Like we could do “Tip me – £2”, “Tip me £5”, “Tip me £10”, as options, and then it populates the tip amount box.
    9. Finally, is there a way to center shortcode buttons? They go to the left of the page, which does not look good.

Oh, also, if we set a default amount with partial whole amounts, e.g., $2.50, it should display the “0” at the end. Currently, it shows $2.5″. This does not look professional.

Sorry, one other thing. But if you put the expanding form option in to the sidebar, it’s hard to see credit card details when you put them in, as the card number overlaps the date area. I imagine this is the same for the embed option.

Can it be made so the card details input box is bigger, or separated out in to separate boxes, or something, so the numbers don’t overlap?

Thanks so much for all of this feedback! We really appreciate it.

For #3, I believe this should already happen, but if it doesn’t for you we will definitely be happy to investigate.

For #4, can you tell me more about this? I just want to make sure I understand what you mean about “payment box”. The title of the Payment form is customizable, but are you saying you would like to be able to set a separate description for what gets sent over to Stripe?

For #5, you can set up different payment forms if you use the shortcode inserter above the editor (if you are using the Classic Editor), or if you are using the Block Editor, each Tip Jar block you insert will be completely unique, so you can make each one act differently. There’s more about that here. (at the very bottom):
    https://tipjarwp.com/getting-started-with-tip-jar-wp/#showing-the-payment-form-on-your-website

For #6, that is very strange! However, it could be because the system tries to email you twice to make sure your receipts do arrive. It tries immediately after payment, and then again when it receives confirmation from Stripe. It could be that the second attempt is the one that made it to you. I can’t say for certain why that first one failed, but let us know if that consistently keeps happening and we can take a look. It’s probably best to email us for that at [email protected] so that we can work with you through email (in case we need to temporarily log into your WordPress to test/investigate.

For #7, unfortunately no. It is not possible to change the transaction numbers, and we don’t have any plans to change this. It’s a data integrity issue that simplifies a lot of the underlying infrastructure to start at 1, and increment them by one only.

For #8, good idea! We will take a look at doing something like this in the future. I can’t make any promises, but it’s a great idea and we will investigate the value in adding it! We’ll ask other users if that’s also valuable to them and try to gauge interest in it. It’s possible that some users value a simpler form with less options, and some would want what you are describing here. We have to juggle those as we consider what we add.

For #9, you should be able to use the text-align options in your text editor just like you would for any text, to center it. Is that not working on your end?

For #10, thanks for sharing this! We’ll make sure to fix this in the next release.

For #11, this is also great feedback, thank you! We’ll make sure to fix this as well in the next release.

No problem! I am glad it’s useful.

    3. Yes, I entered a different e-mail to my logged in (admin) account, but the receipt sent to the e-mail I was logged in as.

    4. So, as far as I can see, the title of the payment form displays on the user end as the heading of the Tip Jar. You can’t customise it for the backend only. This then gets sent to Stripe as the “description” in your Stripe “payments” page.

In my case, I have it set to “Found this content useful? Please consider buying me a coffee!”. This then goes on to my Stripe dashboard as the payment description. It would be better if it said “tip” in the description on Stripe’s end. But, crucially, still be able to display the above language as the heading to the tip jar area to users.

    5. So that actually really helped. I was using the shortcode block, then adding “[tipjarwp]”, which does not give you options to change anything like “/tip” does. I did this because in the pop-up on the settings page “how to show a tip form” says to do that. Perhaps another line saying how to insert an editable one would be useful. But this was really great, because I discovered all this stuff I never knew I could add by shortcode! Ha!

    6. It has not happened again yet!

    8. Cool! I think it just helps end users know what is suitable. If you give them a box to fill in, it adds to the sense of not knowing what to do, so just not bothering.

    9. No, I can’t seem to get it to align, but I will keep trying.

Thanks for being so responsive and taking things on board!

So, I tried centring text again. FYI, I am putting the form in using the Widget” option for my sidebar, and then a Text widget.

Using Word, I centralised the main text and pasted it, and that worked. But I can’t get the “Title” to center. Do you have any ideas?

Are you able to email us a link to your website? We’d be happy to take a look and see what the cause of the off centered text might be on your site!

Just wanted to update you here that #10 and #11 have been improved in the latest release (version 2.0.0).

    Hey!

Thanks for that, I saw the update just now. Really great update! The centring of the title now works, too.

    Thanks for doing them!

My one priority left is getting buttons centered. If you go to the bottom of this post, you should see a reusable block titled “Have you found this post helpful? Please consider buying me a coffee!” The “Buy me a coffee!” button just won’t center for me. I would appreciate any help with this! – https://www.humangrowthlab.com/inspirational-motivational-stories/

    Thanks again.

Oh, a couple of other things:-

    1. Is there a way to make the payment screen be a pop-up (that’s not simply a new window)? So I could have a button in the menu to tip, and the screen pops up?

    2. I had one issue with a transaction that failed (Stripe said it was a webhook issue), but it worked on retry. In WP Tip jar it shows as 2 transactions, but in Stripe it is 1. Is there a way to fix this?

    Thanks!

    Thread Starter gizmo2501

    (@gizmo2501)

    Sorry, two other suggestions:-

    1. Would there be a way to get an e-mail sent to an account of our choice/the admin account if we receive a tip, along with details of it?

    2. In that e-mail, could we find out what page on our site the tip came from?

If point 1. is not something that can be offered, is there another way we can also find out point 2.? It would be great to be able to know which pages are working for tips.

    Thanks!
