How do I use “Member Only” option?

    What does the “Members Only” option mean and how do I use it? How do I set up a log in page in order to exercise the option? For a few years now I have had links to documents on a password protected page and anyone who could access the page was able to view the documents. Now no one can view the documents as long as the Members Only check box is selected. Thanks.
