Theme for Uploading Files to Remote FTP Server

  • I’m hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

    I’ve been searching for a theme that offers a simple file upload feature that would allow visitors to my site to upload files of any size to a remote FTP directory.

    Optimally, the theme would allow me to publish a WP page that specified the FTP Login and Password for a specific directory on my FTP server — and the visitor would have a seamless uploading experience where they would simply “browse” to the file that needed to be uploaded — and click an “Upload” button.

    I have seen upload features in various contact forms, such as GravityForms, but they are limited by PHP settings — and seem incapable of “pathing” the uploaded file to a remote FTP server.

    Does anyone know of such a theme?

  • that is outside of the realm of a theme… for the most part….theme’s don’t add functionality to WP per se

    they stylize WP, and implement/utilize features offered by WP. As what you are looking for is not a native feature of WP, a theme couldn’t really implement it….

    That’s more of a plugin thing….and even then, I haven’t found what you are looking for.

    My solution was a form…as you stated. Using the cforms plugin, but others work. The only php limitation was the upload file size, and that was easily remedied…. It can upload to a set directory….. You may be looking at some custom work here….
