It appears you have CAOS setup to use gtag.js.

Stealth Mode does not work with gtag.js. Try changing it to analytics.js, update analytics.js manually. That should resolve your issue.

Thanks for your speedy response, I have cleared the cache and it is now using analytics.js, but google analytics is still reporting 0 active users

Ok, it is now kind of working, Google Analytics Realtime report is still showing 0 active users but weirdly at the same time 100% mobile when I test by visiting via mobile.

The audience overview report is showing 52 new users of which 47 are labelled as (not set) the others en-us,en-gb,en-au and nl. In the Behavior->Events->Top Events tracking->ad blocker-> it shows the 47 users as 39 disabled 8 enabled

Is the super stealth upgrade supposed to report visits as (not set) or is this the Track Ad Blockers feature. (I have them both enabled)

I assumed the super stealth mode would by-pass the adblockers and provide
pageview/event information, but the 47(not set) provide no information at all, is this not how this feature works?

    Hi!

You should disable the Track Ad Blockers option when using Super Stealth as it adds no additional value.

Let me know if it still reports new (not set) users!

Thank you, I have now disabled this feature. I will let you know when I have more information to assess.

Should I update analytics.js for this to take effect.

now analytics is not working at all

    chrome developer console reports

Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 406 ()

this error is being thrown by/for *upload/caos/super-stealth.php?v=1…etc

406 means Unacceptable. Maybe your hosting provider has configured a size limit for requests? Try asking them to disable it.

Hi, thanks again for getting back to me, I spoke with my host provider, it turned out it was a mod_security issue, which is why I was getting the 406 error. They have now whitelisted this action and the 406 server response has now been fixed unfortunately it has been replaced with a 404 error for the following URL:

    *wp-json/caos/v1/proxy/super-stealth?v=1….etc

with the server returning this message:

    {“code”:”rest_no_route”,”message”:”No route was found matching the URL and request method”,”data”:{“status”:404}}

would this be another server issue or is something else going on?

That’s strange. That means that CAOS’ Stealth API endpoint hasn’t been registered. Can you think of anything that might be blocking calls to internal API’s?

Btw, since you’re a super stealth user, you could set Plugin Handling mode to Super Stealth. That should circumvent this issue anyway.

    Hi,

I am unsure what would be blocking calls to internal API’s, I believe the REST_API is available as */wp-json/ is accessible from a browser.

I had already set plugin handling to Super Stealth upgrade previously, this is when the problems started, before that it was set to experimental which was working fine and reporting visitors. Currently, I have no analytics at all.

I reached out to my host provider again to see if they could explain what was blocking the API, they directed me to this topic stream as a solution for my problems.

I am glad to say analytics are now working as they should be. I believe it was to do with the asset cleanup plugin, in the HTML clean up settings there was an option to remove rest API link tags, which was enabled. I don’t know if this seems likely or not but it is working now so I am happy either way.

Thank you for your assistance in this matter.

    Plugin Author DaanvandenBergh

    (@daanvandenbergh)

Ah yes, Asset Cleanup disables the API entirely when that option is enabled. So, this could have something to do with it.

I’m happy you managed to get it resolved. ??

    Enjoy CAOS! ??
