Show checkbox and subscribe at checkout

I have the same question. At this moment I have a subscribe widget in the left column but nobody subscribes in this way.
Previously I used another plugin which showed a “subscribe to our newsletter” checkbox just above the “pay now” button. This was way more efficient, more people subscribe this way! Can you add this functionality?
