    Hello,

Great plugin – works incredibly well!

I’m wondering if there is a way to allow text in the “Year” qualifier? I have a site that sells batteries and would like to have 1 “Year” called “Off Highway” for tractors and such.

If possible, I would like “Off highway” to be first in the list.

If this is not possible, no problem!

    Thank you.

    Hello,

You can use the “Make Model Engine” version of this plugin:
    https://hottons.com/ymm_modifications

Then rename “Engine” to “Year” in the files:
    wp-content/plugins/ymm-search/etc/config.php
    wp-content/plugins/ymm-search/view/frontend/templates/product/view/tabs/restriction.php

So that the Year drop-down select will contain text values.

For such products that are applicable to many different models it is possible to use the “Attribute mapping” feature.
So that you will not have to link vehicle models directly to products.
It is available as a modified version of the YMM Search plugin:
    “Attribute mapping”

Thanks for the reply. I changed to the Make Model Engine version, but it brings up too many options and slows my search down (site is still fast, but I have to scroll through many unneeded “Makes”). YMM really works the best.

Perhaps I’ll run two different searches – one for auto and one for off-highway. I think I’ll change to the attribute mapping if I’m running two searches.

    Thanks!
