• I asked this question a while back and though it was fixed but it came back. My RSS Feed gave me a message

    RSS Error: XML error: not well-formed (invalid token) at line 283, column 59

    I was told to remove the Share It button and I did from the side bar. It still remained in the comment section and I can not seem to find how to get rid of it there.

  • Try deactivating the AddThis plugin.

    I don’t have the plugin. It was in a text widget. I deleted that.

    Well, it’s still in your RSS feed. Try resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin. Preferably by phpMyAdmin as it tend to be more successful. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    Well, that did not work. Do you have any other ideas. Now it also says Unknown Feed on my home page above the error message.

    I can still see:

    <!-- AddThis Button BEGIN -->
    <div><div class="addthis_toolbox addthis_default_style">
    <a href="https://www.addthis.com/bookmark.php?v=250&username=juliannah" class="addthis_button_compact">Share</a>
    <span class="addthis_separator">|</span>

    <a class="addthis_button_facebook"></a>
    <a class="addthis_button_myspace"></a>
    <a class="addthis_button_google"></a>
    <a class="addthis_button_twitter"></a>
    </div>
    <script type="text/javascript" src="https://s7.addthis.com/js/250/addthis_widget.js#username=juliannah"></script></div>
    <!-- AddThis Button END -->

    at the bottom of your RSS feed’s source code. Which plugin were you using?
    https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/addthis-sidebar-widget/
    or
    https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/addthis/

    Did you you try the phpMyAdmin method of deactivating all plugins?

    (@juliannah)

    Honestly, I do not know how to do the phpMyAdmin. Do I do it via my host? Also I used https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/addthis-sidebar-widget/ to put the addthis on the site. Sorry I am not all that savvy with the HTML.
    Thanks for your help!

    Did you deactivate the plugin before deleting it? Was there an option to reset any custom settings to defaults or clear the plugin’s custom options from your database?

    Actually all I did was put the code in a widget in the side bar, but it also appeared on the comment page. I have looked all through pages to find that code and I can not find it. I do not think it is a plugin but I will try deactivating all of them and see what happens. esmi thanks for your help!

    I think I fixed it! I found the addthis in a custom header and footer plugin. I deleted that and the addthis went away! Thanks again esmi!

    Glad you finally sorted it.
