    Hi,

I can’t see the problem on your linked url. I tried to make headlines bold, too but the plugin works here on my end. Do any other plugins that interfere with headlines? Did you install the most recent version?

Could you change your theme to twenty-twenty or twenty-nineteen to see if this is a problem with your theme?

Ok, since you did not reply..

    Hi Marc,

I get the ” id=”>” banner after any heading with additional formatting applied.

    So unformatted “Heading Text” displays:

    Heading Text

Heading entirely formatted (Bold in this case) displays:

    Heading Textclass=” id=”>

One Part of the Heading formatted (first word “Heading” in Bold) displays:

    Headingclass=” id=’text’> Text

Using V3.2 of SimpleTOC and GeneratePress as the theme. Removing the simpleTOC plugin removes the display error. The solution in the meantime has just been to remove any additional formatting from the heading text. It’d be good to be able to include extra formatting in the headings though.

Let me know if you’d like a link and I can publish a page with the error.

    Cheers,
    Nathan

    Hi Nathan,

I cannot reproduce this on a fresh test installation of WordPress. Could you please add a new post with new headlines and show me that url? My assumption is that there is something wrong with your headlines. So please add a new post.

Thanks for the quick response Marc,

I’ve edited the first three H2 post headings for you to see here.

Thanks again for the great work.

    Cheers,

    Hi!

This is what I see: https://ibb.co/KwXNV6r Which browser do you use?

I found the problem at your second headline. Could you please go into Gutenberg, select the corresponding headline, click the three dots, select “edit as HTML” and paste it here as code?

    Like this:

    <h3 class="alignfull relevanteE"><strong>Relevante </strong><em>Entscheidungen</em></h3>

Please do not copy the generated html. I need the Gutenberg HTML.

I found the problem. Don’t worry. Will be fixed in the next version.

That’s great to hear – thanks once again, much appreciated!

Ok, please try v3.3. I completely changed how this plugin works while traversing the headings. Before my changes I tried to reconstruct the headline, and now I add the anchor id slug the already styled headlines. I also removed all regex and switched to DOMDocument.

I use a testpage with all sorts of special headings like a link with a bold word, an italic word, ellipsis, umlauts and custom classes and so on. I hope it works much better now. If not I am sure you will tell me ??

Just updated and it’s perfect! Thanks Marc, love your work ??
