Hi, I am getting emails from wordpress@”mydomainname” with the following content

Someone has requested a password reset for the following account:

    Site Name:

    Username:

If this was a mistake, just ignore this email and nothing will happen.

To reset your password, visit the following address:

If I look up the Username in the database it calls up a subscriber account with a name that I have not set up, my profile photo on it and my email address.

    I found a post from 2 years ago: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/constant-user-password-reset-emails/

It does not resolve the problem though. Is this a physical person hacking our account? What else can be done?

    Thank you!

  • Do you really consider your webserver’s requests for help with an issue, reporting a possible problem, offering you as a user some guidance, or else a misdirected request as SPAM?

It’s probably some miscreant trying to gain access to some account to do something malicious but it could possibly be a user or someone very confused.

I get a couple of these per day. It’s just bots hitting your login page. Things are working properly. You can reduce this *a bit* by using a plugin like WordFence, but you’ll never eliminate it.
