List widget no longer shoining featured image

I’ve just visited the link you shared and I was able to see the a featured event being displayed.

Did you manage to fix the issue?

On my laptop using Firefox and Microsoft Edge, on my Android tablet and on my iPhone the featured image does not show. It shows on the Calendar but not on the Events List widget.

Are you looking at the Home Page you can not see the image or on this page it is missing https://harefieldchurch.org/connect/sunday/

@barrywales apologies! I misread your earlier message. I thought you meant that the featured event wasn’t being displayed at all.

Can you please try and add the following snippet to your wp-config file (above the /* That’s all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */ line) and check whether it fixes the issue?

Did not fix the issue. It also screwed up the page as well. But I could see the widget section and there was no featured image.

Hi @barrywales, I’m sorry about that. I’ve just realized that you’re using the Pro version of the Events Calendar. Do you mind submitting a ticket on the premium support page for in order to get faster assistance?

I have tried to create a ticket via the Premium Support but it wouldn’t let me do that on your website. I tried using Microsoft Edge and Firefox to the enter the problem. I copied in the system information, took screen shot and ticked the boxes, tried 3 times and wouldn’t save or submit the problem over 2 days so that is why I posted the problem here.

I have tried to follow the instructions in an email about logging the problem but couldn’t get it to work on the Events Tribe website. I have emailed the problem as you have suggested but have not received any reply, not even an acknowledgement of receipt.

Even in the latest release it has not been fixed and it does not work on the website demo. You have rewritten the widget and reading your details of the product on your website I have come to the conclusion that you have removed this functionality which is disappointing.

I have the same issue. Is there any solution?

I have emailed Modern Tribe but am getting no where with their support system.

Hi @barrywales I’m so sorry for the delayed response. We’ve had a reduced number of support agents available during the festive period and that’s why its taken this long to get back.

I’ve just realized that the reason why the snippet I shared didn’t work and broke your page is because the single quotes (”) between the text TRIBE_EVENTS_WIDGETS_V2_DISABLED were formatted incorrectly.

Here’s the snippet for reference: define(‘TRIBE_EVENTS_WIDGETS_V2_DISABLED’, true); (You might have to format the single quotes since this editor messes them up)

Please try it once again and let me know how it goes?

Lastly, can you please share the email address you used to contact Premium Support in a private message so I can follow up on that as well?

Tried the code, changed the ” as you said, but just made the widget completely disappear.

I have been informed by Modern Tribe that have removes the functionality of a featured image in the Events List Widget even though it was put into Pro version 5 new release less than a year ago.

I asked them if this was now policy that they could remove functionality if they so chose and the respondent did not disagree this and just told me he would put it forward for a possible enhancement in the future.

Disappointing as we changed our website to have this new feature in Pro V5. Not sure what we do now!
