Help Develop IPB 3.0 Plugin

  • Hello,

    I am the lead developer for a website called BTHSnews.org, a student news website for Brooklyn Technical High School, a major specialized high school in NYC.

    We have a main site and a student forum (IPB 3.0) for people to ask questions and just have fun.

    I have started developing a plugin in the summer of 2009 that would integrate the website and the forums. I’ve put in some key features such as auto posting wordpress posts onto the forums and wordpress widgets that allow login and logout of the forums. You can check out the widgets at BTHSnews.org.

    I would like to continue development of this plugin for public release, but I need help as my coding knowledge is limited and I have a busy school life.

    This plugin would help out a lot of wordpress owners who have forum integration problems, and because website integration for IPB 3.0 is limited and barely any simple solutions exist for it. My current code is pretty organized and is a very good start for continuing development.

    Of course I cannot pay anyone since I’m a student but we can do it for the good of the community.

  • I don`t have the skills to help you out, but i realy want to get hold of your plugin… Is there somewhere i can download it?

    I really need an IPB 3.0 WordPress plugin also. I am using converge and it works except for a Single sign on from the wordpress side. Is this plugin available anywhere?

    autoshopowner – how does converge work?

    You can log in to ipb from worpdress…but since wordpress does not support single sign on, you cannot log into wordpress from ipb. It woudl work fine if wordpress supported SSO with IPB.

    But still, ip.converge is only for loging in, it does not carry over emails to wordpress or user info like avatars…dob, etc

    Is this project still active? If so, I might have a treat for you!

    Here’s IPB Website Integration 3.0, an API which is easy to integrate with other systems. I’m looking for the same functionality as you guys, but I don’t have enough coding experience to make it happen…
