Rogue Comment Shows Up in Post RSS

  • Hi All,

    Recently and very rarely, we get a comment that shows up in the RSS feed for posts. The RSS feed we’re using is the standard https://www.yoursite.com/feed method so its all WordPress, nothing custom.

    When a comment shows up in the posts feed, I’ve 100% verified that it was indeed a comment and typically the first comment made.

    This has happened on occasion from 2 separate hosted WordPress sites we run. One uses 2.8.4 and the other uses 2.8.6.

    Any advice is greatly appreciated.

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-related problems?
