password protecting the whole install

  • I’m trying to set up a local network installation of WordPress using EasyPHP on out server. The idea is to have a documentation repository for our IT department using a CMS. In order to make sure that non-IT people can’t get in, I’d like to password-protect the viewing of any WordPress page. Can this be done, and if so, how?

    Or an internal network, not acessible from the outside internet works to.

    I know someone who works for a company that has an intranet. The user has to be inside the building to access it.

    Well, the thing about the internal network is that not everyone on that internal network should be able to see it. I’ll fool around with the .htaccess things, though; hopefully I’ll find someway of implementing that. Windows doesn’t like filenames in that format.

    Another question, then – How do I get all the categories to show up on the sidebar, even if there are no posts in that category? For cataloging purposes, it would be great if I could show all the categories and have the user navigate to the correct heading.
