Order cancelled but money received

    Hello everyone,

    recently I receive automatically cancelled orders by wocommerce but at the same time paypal lets me know, that I received the money. So it seems, that people do not cancel the order and on their side its all fine, wocommerce somehow cancels the order behind my customers back. It doesnt send me emails informing me that the order is cancelled, it just shows status “cancelled” but paypal sends me an email informing me, that the cash was wired successfully.

    Any idea?

  • This generally happens when PayPal can’t send the IPN back to your site. Sometimes it works fine without setting it up but its far better to set it up.

    Hi @user02122019,

    We’ve not heard back from you in a while. Hopefully, it’s because you were able to find a solution to your problem!

    As informed by @mtruit, this issue might normally occur if you are using PayPal Standard due to PayPal Instant Payment Notifications not being able to tell your site that the payment for an order was successful. As a result, WooCommerce automatically cancels the order after the Hold Stock timeout.

    Since there has not been a follow-up on the thread, I’ll mark it as solved.
