• As well as my live site, I have a staging site that is useful for testing new features, updates etc. Both sites currently use WP 5.6 and php 7.3.

Because of the reported problems with WP Statistics v 13+ I am continuing to run the plugin v12+ on my live site but have been testing the recent v13 updates on my staging site including v13.0.5 which became available for my site yesterday.

All of these (when updating from v12) generate a fatal error during the install as described in the pinned topic but I am pleased to report that my site and the plugin continue to function without the serious problems experienced by others.

However, I will continue to keep my live site rolled back to v12 of the plugin for one reason. This involves the plugin’s ‘Pages’ tab. In version 13+, this tab has a much reduced list of options for the time-frame to be analysed but that does not matter because I mostly use the minimum time frame. This is now ‘1 week’ rather than ’10 days’ as it was before but that is not a problem and makes some sense.

As before (with v12), the graph shows visits to the ‘Top 5 Pages’. However, the ‘Top Pages’ table below is giving the all-time totals of visits to each page (information that is already available elsewhere) rather than the total visits for the selected period of one week. This is not very helpful as it is important for me to see which pages were most popular in the recent week and how many visits each has had in that period.

Is this a glitch or is it a planned feature of the update?

  • I came here to write this exact post — the ability to track top pages for a selected period of time is very helpful. Not being able to do this anymore is bad.

I’m curious if this is something that is a planned change or a glitch that will be fixed (and if so, what the timeline looks like for fixing this), as well.
