Cannot delete podcast channel

  • I had setup a channel to offer older free episodes but now am only offering preview episodes. I couldn’t figure out a way to just change the name and URL so – as per this post – I removed all the free episodes from the player and re-added them to the regular premium channel player (main), deleted the category from WordPress and am now trying to delete the channel.

    I’ve cleared my database, cleared my cache, cleared the PowerPress cache yet it still shows 13 episodes even though they are no longer there. Thus, I’m not allowed to delete the channel.

    I’ve already setup the new preview channel but this is driving me nuts! Yes, I can hide it from the WordPress editor but that’s not the point. If I’ve removed all 13 episodes from the player, cleaned up the database and cleared my cache as well as the PowerPress cache then it should no longer be showing the 13 episodes still active.

    How can I fix this issue so I can delete the channel?

    Hi kjam,

    If any of the Posts that were removed the channel are in the WordPress Post Trash, you’ll need to empty Trash before you’ll be able to delete the channel.

    Hey Shawn, thanks for getting back with me. I found the problem. For some reason I had two databases and after deleting the one not in use – the episodes disappeared. I can’t explain it and have no idea where the database came from. Possibly from a previous restore? Who can say.

    Anyway, I was able to delete it. Thanks!
