My domain name was purchased from WordPress.com. My blog is hosted on dhosting.com. My blog’s domain shows up when I log into WordPress.com but it is not connected to my website. It just lets me edit my DNS and it asks me to connect a website.

My host keeps telling me to regenerate my certificate with Let’s Encrypt. I have done this several times. I am still unable to connect to the Jetpack plugin.

What do I need to do to get my website to connect?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @deborah86

We’re unable to connect to your xmlrpc.php file:

    https://lazyjack.blog/xmlrpc.php

As you see, it just redirects to your homepage.

This file is used by Jetpack and other plugins and apps to connect to your site. It must return the following message:

    XML-RPC?server accepts POST requests only.

You can see a working example here:

    https://jetpack.com/xmlrpc.php

I would recommend that you check the following:

    1) Can you see the /xmlrpc.php file at the root of your WordPress installation when accessing your site via FTP? If you don’t, then please try re-installing WordPress. You can do this by going to the Dashboard -> Upgrades page, then click the “Reinstall WordPress” button.

    2) Do you use any security plugins that may block access to this file? If so, could you try to disable them? You might also want to check your site’s .htaccess file for any rules that might be blocking access to the?xmlrpc.php file.

    3) Does your hosting provider block access to this file? If you don’t find any plugin that may block access to the file on your site, I would recommend that you get in touch with your host.

Once we are able to access your site’s?xmlrpc.php file, you should be able to connect Jetpack to?https://wordpress.com.

Let me know how it goes!

    Thread Starter deborah86

    (@deborah86)

    1) Yes, I am able to see the file
    2) I don’t think I have any plugins blocking access to the file. Here is my .htaccess file.

    3) I am checking with my hosting provider. I will get back to you when they respond.

It looks like that your site SSL certificate has A grade now. Here is what I am seeing https://d.pr/i/ukWWfB

Usually, if this issue happens, you will need to contact your host or SSL provider to check.

That said, Jetpack on your site is not being connected. Please try reconnecting Jetpack again. If there is any other issue, please let us know.

Also, please do not share your Site Health info in a public post like above. It may include sensitive info about your site. In case, we need this info, we will ask you privately.

    Thread Starter deborah86

    (@deborah86)

My website is now connecting. My webhost fixed the issue. Thank you for your help.
