There must be a serious bug in WooCommerce.

In WooCommerse>settings>tax, I have entered the following:

Prices entered with tax: (x) Yes, I will enter prices inclusive of tax.

Display prices in the shop: Including tax

Display prices during cart and checkout: Including tax

Price display suffix: “(inkl MVA)” (meaning tax included)

Then, for the product, I have three variants. Whose price is 2200,- 3750,- and 4500,- respectively (tax included according to the first setting above).

But, the prices displayed for the variants in the shop is 1760,- 3000,- and 3600,- respectively.

If I change the upper setting: (x) No, I will enter prices exclusive of tax, the price come out correctly (so I have changed to this setting now), but the price range given under the product title is still “kr 1 760,00 – kr 3 600,00 (inkl. MVA)”

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi there,

    Thank you for reaching out!

If the price is entered inclusive of tax but other settings dictate that the price is displayed without tax on product/shop pages and checkout – the tax will be deducted.

Also, depending on your tax settings, the tax might vary depending on the address entered at the checkout so when guest users visit your site for the first time – the price they see depends on the “default customer location” setting.

If the default customer location is set to shop base address or you have geolocation enabled and configured – the tax will be added before the customer enters their billing address at the checkout page, but it might still not be displayed on product/cart pages if you have Display prices in the shop set to Excluding tax:

If there is no default customer location or geolocating fails – there is no way for the system to know which tax rate should be added and with prices entered inclusive of tax, the price without tax can still be displayed:

To sum up, some experimentation with these settings might be necessary.

    I hope this helps!

There was definitely something fishy goining on. I changed the settings back and forth to map what kind of results I got with the different combinations of settings. And all of the sudden the prices started to display correctly again. There must be a hickup somewhere.

Ultimately, I ended up changing the setting to disable tax calculations to be safe, and the prices are now displaying correctly.

I’m glad to hear that taxes are displayed correctly on your site now!

The tax calculation/display settings are quite complex and often the intended functionality might look like a hiccup of sorts, in cases where the tax calculation is only done at the checkout page and the prices are entered inclusive tax for example – the price on the product page will be lower than what you’ve entered.

I’ll be marking this thread as resolved but feel free to open a new thread and link to this one if you have further questions.

    Have a wonderful day ahead!
