fatal error on a fresh install (2.0.8)

Seems that the library we are using is doing a conflict with another plugin that uses too but use a fork.

In this case wps-hide-plugin plugin is creating the issues as this fork is not updated as that issue is fixed wit the latest version of that library.

You should talk with the plugin support of that plugin.

The dev in charge of WPS-hide-plugin told me that the problem was on your side without giving me more info.

I also have the same problem:
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare DNH() (previously declared in /home/www/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/wps-hide-login/vendor/NicolasKulka/wp-dismissible-notices-handler/handler.php:629) in /home/www/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/glossary-by-codeat/vendor/julien731/wp-dismissible-notices-handler/includes/helper-functions.php on line 29

So the library forked used by wps-hide-plugin plugin is not aligned with the latest changes off the original one.
The only difference in the 3 commits is just an error silenced print when an old PHP version is used.

The original repo has more changes and few are mines https://github.com/julien731/WP-Dismissible-Notices-Handler/commits/develop that were implemented in 2018 to avoid issues with composer like this.

If wps-hide-plugin use the right library the error should go away as composer will not load again the file.
Yes the original can be improved for a check but this change will miss also in wps-hide-plugin.

Basically this plugin as is not using the last version of the original library could expose to other fatal errors of other plugin that use the last and official version.

Also I opened now a pr in the original library for a fix that should fix the issue with the fork but also the fork will miss that code https://github.com/julien731/WP-Dismissible-Notices-Handler/pull/9

Thanks you for your involvement in this! I’ll stay tuned and will install/activate your plugin weither wps-hide-login decides to update the lib or the code you pushed is approved.

The library we are using has the patch now. I have to release a new plugin version with that library updated.

Thanks for the effort put in work! I’ll check it as soon as it’s released.

I cannot updated on composer as an issue of the original library, already reported but this issue is on my todo list.

I released now a 2.0.12 version that has the fix for this issue.
