Excellent lightweight plugin + great support

We are using this plugin to provide glossary explanations of technical terms in plant descriptions. When a term is hovered, or touched on a mobile phone, an image and explanation appears. It’s perfect and just what we needed.

Crucially:
– it has a light load.
– it keeps the tooltip within the screen.
– it works on touch screens.
– it doesn’t interfere with the product selection filters in another plugin.
– it has an opening delay and shadow which helps the visibility of each tooltip as something new and separate from the page or post.

The light load is perhaps the most important – we had abandoned another more automated tooltip plugin because it had created a javascript file for every tooltip on every page, regardless of whether they were on that page!

By contrast, this plugin has a simple code for each tooltip within the HTML, and a single javascript file, so it is light and neat by comparison. Huge difference.

The plants we show are actually WooCommerce ‘products’, so we constantly update ‘product details’ using a .csv file. It means we create the coding for each tooltip simply with Excel formulas that combine the term, the standard code elements, and the explanation.

After a year or so, when we had a problem with a WordPress update and a clash with another plugin, the response and solution was immediate. As it’s the developer responding, it means it goes into the next update for everyone. Brilliant.
