Publishers and imprints

    Hello,
    I have a question : many publishers have different imprints (not sure about this word, in French we call them “collection”). For example
    French Publisher Gallimard has a set of collections called
    Découvertes cadet, Découvertes benjamin, Découvertes Gallimard ,…

    Unless I am mistaken, There is no field dedicated to the imprints. Maybe it is more a French thing…..What is your input on that matter?

    That’s a good question.

    I would suggest using the publisher name to list both the publisher name and imprint (or maybe just imprint, with the publisher noted somewhere else?) for now. I will consider how I can add imprint to the plugin.

    Thanks for your reply and suggestion. We will follow your advice.

    I have another question about the Publishers’field:
    the publisher field appears when the book is displayed, which is fine
    (https://www.sylben.net/book/magellan/)

    but it seems impossible to click on the publisher’s name and get all the books printed by this publisher…..
    I would like to check with you if I miss something or if it just isn’t possible

    This has been added in version 4.5. There’s a new page in the settings menu to add Imprints and you can assign books to imprints. Imprint will display below the publisher on the book page.

    I know it’s not perfect because Imprints are tied to publishers (so one Imprint wouldn’t belong with multiple publishers) but it works for now.

    It is exactly as we expected :)!! It is not a problem at all (for us) that Imprints are linked to publishers ??

    Just one more question: in French, Imprints is called Collection. Could you please advise: Is there a way we can replace imprints with the word ‘collection’ in our version of Mooberry?

    I’m not 100% sure how the process works… I think you need to be approved to become a translator. So I think the options are (a) wait for one of the existing translators to update the new text with translations or (b) apply to become a translator so you can update the text yourself.
