I had problem with speed on my site. Most of the plugins are related to Elementor and Woocommerce. I have experienced with viruses. So I have checked viruses by Wordfence and also manually by FTP. So, then I moved to plugins. Firstly I disabled unnecessary plugins and deleted them. After that I started update. Bulk wasn’t working correctly, because it started to give error 504 Gateway Timeout Gateway Timeout.
One by one I managed to arrive updating Woocommerce. I don’t actually remember how it went, did I removed the woocommerce or what. But when I wanted to install it again, it said update failed. Then I tried to upload manually through WordPress. Didn’t work. So I went to FTP. There was Woocommerce folder. When I deleted it, then FTP was loading forever, and didn’t delete it. Then I managed to rename it.
Woocommerce is not shown in plugins list, even if I have the correct folder name etc.
    All plugins are disabled.
    Site’s speed is now normal.
When I rename woocommerce and try to install it again through WordPress, then “update is failed”. And I have renamed (bymyself) woocommerce and new wocommerce folder. But no woocommerce in plugins list and on dashboard menu.
Can’t upload through FTP, FTP freezes.
I have allready 3 renamed woocommerce folders.
Don’t want to delete all info…tabels???…, because we have inserted about 200 products.
I can take backup from host, but then there is still this speed problem. And this anomally is stupid, so I would like to know for future whats is the problem.

I assume this is not only woocommerce problem.

  • You should be using a staging server or testing environment to make updates of this scale, rather than testing on your live (production) site. Set up a test area, and then take the backup from host to restore your live site while you work on speed and WooCommerce issues in a safer place.

    Started again with site’s backup.

I disabled Woocommerce. Updated it. Then I smashed all images. After that I enabled Woocommerce.

Site’s speed is normal again and everything works.
