    1. Are you assigning your reviews?
    2. If so, are each of the spam reviews assigned to the same page or to different pages?
    3. Are each of the spam reviews submitted with the same form, or do you have multiple forms?

There is only one page with the review form. This page:

    https://www.beautysalonflorin.nl/reviews/

    It has this shortcode:
    [site_reviews_form title="Geef een review" description="Wat vond u van uw behandeling!" assigned_posts="post_id" id="jbuteg62" hide="terms"]

Please go to the “Site Reviews > Tools > System Info” page and confirm that the following setting is set:

Also, I can see that your reviews are being assigned to different pages:

Are reviews being assigned to these pages manually or on submission?

I ask because the review limits only apply to the page you are assigning reviews to (or globally if no page is being assigned).

Yes, the submission limit is set.
And I saw you just submitted two reviews from the same IP…

There is a single page where you can write a review and it is assigned to that page. When the owner approves the review, she manually assigns them to a more relevant page. That way she can sent out a single link to ask for a review.

It looks like this problem is specific to your website as I am unable to reproduce it.

    1. Are you using the latest version of Site Reviews?
    2. Can you think of any plugins you recently added that may be causing a conflict (or perhaps a caching plugin)?
    3. Do you have a staging (i.e. non-production) website that you could provide credentials for so that I can debug the problem?

    1. yes v5.4.2

    2. I haven’t added any plugin there for a long time.

I use WP Fastest Cache as a caching plugin.
I just excluded that page and cleared the cache and could submit two reviews.

    3. sorry no staging for this site.
Just tested on a test site (with the same and many more plugins) and I can’t reproduce it there either :/

I can clone it, but that will have to wait until the weekend.

Can I sent the full system info somewhere?
Maybe also an export of the plugin settings?
    Any tools I could/should run?

    Thanks
    JP

If you can’t reproduce it on a different site then it means the problem is specific to that website.

Let me know once you clone it and I can help to track down the cause.

Understood. In the mean time, is it worth a try that you import my settings and see if you can reproduce then? That’s a bit faster than creating a clone ??

    Thanks

Use the “Contact Support” section on the help page and send me the Site Reviews System Info file, the Console file, and an export file of the plugin settings (export this on the Tools page).

    Thanks, it’s on it’s way.

The reason this is happening is because the “Require Approval” setting is enabled and Site Reviews only applies the review limits for “IP address/email” when there are existing approved reviews.

The “Limit reviews by username” setting checks the review limit against all reviews, but the “Limit reviews by email” and “Limit reviews by IP address” only checks against approved reviews.

This will be changed in the next update, so I will mark this topic as resolved.

Awesome, glad you found the cause.

    Thank you for your help!

    JP
