• I am new to Multisite Networking setup. So far I have created a multisite network with subdirectories:

    doman.com
    domain.com/london
    domain.com/amsterdam
    etc

I have uploaded the theme and child theme to the Network Themes and activated it Network wise.

The websites in the network are identical and should use the same child theme inclusing the style.css and functions.php files.

I have added custom css in in the child theme, but the changes are not visible in the subsites.

I thought when I activate the Network Wide activated Child theme on one of my subsites the style.css and functions.php are also actiated on my subsite. Am I correct?

You are correct. Same files are used for all sites using the theme. When you modify these files after they are already in use, various caching schemes can prevent your changes from appearing on the front end. Try flushing any caches that might be involved, both server side and client side. Flush your browser cache first, it’s often the culprit with CSS changes. If you are logged into the site, that often bypasses server side caching from WP plugins, but YMMV.
