You go to www.ads-software.com if you want to establish your own site using the WordPress application while you go to WordPress.com if you want to have your blog hosted there.

I started with wordpress.com first. Then I then bought a domain and hosting services, and mapped domain to my wordpress.com.

With my site host, they have an option on Cpanel to download WordPress software (which I did when setting it up).

Then I learned only www.ads-software.com allows FTP uploads and plug-ins etc. So I’m confused as to whether I have everything set up properly together.

Is my blog currently functioning as a www.ads-software.com blog? or is it still a wordpress.com blog? The more I read about all this to gain information and not have to ask questions on the forum, the more confused I get.

I want to be able to change themes and add plug-ins and tweak my site.

    Thank you.

If you want to add plugins, then having your own domain/hosting/and www.ads-software.com software installed is the way to go.

Then I then bought a domain and hosting services, and mapped domain to my wordpress.com.

Wouldn’t you need to change it so it no longer maps to wordpress.COM?
