    My plugin keeps on having this bug (that magically disappears sometimes, but always returns, unfortunately) that when i try to edit or create a new story, the editor screen keeps loading with the message “Wait” and never really loads.

    I already opened a topic here about that problem, and It was fixed (not by the support team, but by a plugin update). But now it’s going again.

    The console message is the following:

    Also, I already tried installing the plugin for problem resolution and even with all other plugins deactivated, It does not work.

    @knowstuff Thanks for your report.

    1) Could you open your browser’s dev tools (press F12) and observe the “Network” tab for any “XHR” requests that fail when opening the editor?

    – In the dev tools, go to the _Network tab_
    – Find and select the request that failed under the _Name column_. It should be highlighted in red (you may need to refresh the page again).
    – Go to the _Response tab_, and take a screenshot or copy/ paste what is there
    Here’s a video example on where to navigate: https://recordit.co/90feR8mX5h

    2) Which browser and browser version are you using? Does this occur in an incognito browser?

    3) Could you share your Site Health information privately here, which gives us a way to look for possible incompatibilities ourselves.

    Thanks:

    1) None of the requests failed. I tried just the way you told me, and I was all good.
    2) Yes, it occurs in an incognito browser. I am using the last version of chrome, but tried other browsers as well and the same thing happens.
    3) I shared the information about site health.

    I have a plugin (Hummingbird) which compresses files on my website. Do you think we could be related (I tried uninstalling the web stories plugin and installing again, but it does not work)?

    Do we have any progress yet?

    Thanks for your help!

    @knowstuff Thank you for the info!

    Does this still happen with the Hummingbird plugin disabled and when using another theme like e.g. Twenty Nineteen?

    @knowstuff I appreciate your patience and providing all this information.

    1) Do you have any server-side caching or security measures enabled? Are you behind and firewalls?

    2) Would you happen to have another website where you can check if the error occurs there as well in the editor?

    @luckynasan

    Honestly I don’t know how to answer the first one and about the second, I don’t have any other website.

    But as far as I know, my website does the following through a plugin: “Hummingbird stores static HTML copies of your pages and posts to decrease page load time.”

    That’s the only cache related feature that I added (I tried cleaning the cache but it didn’t work)!

    About Firewalls and security measures enabled, I believe not. The plugin worked perfectly fine last week, por example.

    @knowstuff I will communicate this to the team for further investigation. Your report here has certainly helped! We’ll follow up with any updates. Thanks again.

    Okay, thanks a lot (:

    @knowstuff The console error messages reported above included errors unrelated to the Web Stories plugin.

    1) Could you update to the newest version 1.3.0 of the Web Stories for WordPress plugin?

    2) Try to test this in an incognito window again with all other plugins disabled.
    – Report any browser console errors you see when the error occurs.

    We will keep investigating on our end as well. Thank you!

    After the update it worked! Let’s hope It doesn’t crash again, thanks a lot for your help ( =

    @knowstuff So glad to hear! Thanks for all your help in this as well. If you do encounter any issues, please don’t hesitate to open a new support topic.
