Although I’m satisfied with this plugin but I don’t understand that where does it save the ads.txt file?

As per the requirement, the file should be saved in the root directory, however, after installing this plugin and creating the ads.txt file, I still could not see it in my root directory within the file manager.

Can someone please explain where can I find the ads.txt file?

    Thank you.

  • Hi @saadi123,

The plugin serves ads.txt file dynamically, so that’s why you don’t see it in the file manager.

Under the hood, the plugin catches the requests to /ads.txt, pulls the data (which saved as a custom post type) from the database, then prepares the file to send to the client.

    Hi Tung,

    Thanks for the response.

I get it that the plugin serves ads.txt file dynamically and that is why one cannot see it in the file manager.

However, I’ve installed this plugin in my WordPress in my local machine and when I try to fetch the details, Page Not Found shows up.

All my URLs are working fine except for this one https://localhost/wordpress/ads.txt

Of course, you cannot see the result but just want to know if this is a known error?

    Cheers.

Hi @saadi123, what is your site permalink structure? Ads.txt Manager requires Rewrites. So if you’re using the default permalink setting, then Ads.txt won’t work.
