media library and website speed

if there a many images in media library in the wordpress dashboard (like the ones i imported from demo) that are not used in the actual website , they are just in the dashboard of wordpress does it make the website slower when a visitor enters the website or it does not matter if the images are just in the media library and not used in the frontend?
