change category of multiple links simultaneously

Well not a plugin but an idea.

1. Create your new link category.

2. Set the Default Link Category to that new category in Administration > Settings > Writing.

3. Delete the ‘old’ category and all the links in that old category will be set to the new default category.

A backup of the database might be in order before starting.

The thing is that not all of the links from one category are going to be in the new category. I’m basically splitting one big category with 250+ links in it into smaller, more specific categories. (Think separating a big pile of books into fiction, non-fiction, poetry, etc etc, You get the idea) Nice idea though.

What I want to be able to do is use the checkbox on the left to select the links I want in the new category, then pick that category from a drop-down and hit a button. Apparently you used to be able to do that but can’t anymore :/
