Give members access to edit selected pages

    Hello!

    I asked this question on the WordPress forum, and someone told me I could use the plugin Ultimate Member for this.

    To make a long question short: I’ve created some roles. And I want to give these roles access to EDIT selected pages (Not all pages, just 1-2 pages).

    Is this even possible to do with Ultimate Member?

    More detailed info: (Not really necessary to read through)

    I’m making a website for a countrywide club, with “chapters” around the country.

    This is a common website for the whole club. When a member register on the website, he or she will gain access to their chapter on the website (Pages unavailable for guests)

    So it will be sort of a sub-website on the website, where each club have access to their own blog, photo gallery, calendar for upcoming events, etc etc. I tested the BuddyPress plugin, but it’s not exactly what I’m looking for:

    I’m looking for a plugin that let me give the administrators of each chapter access to their sub-website on the clubs common website. Administrators are able to add blog posts on their website, add pictures to the gallery and add events.

    I don’t want them to have access to change the rest of the common website, i.e other chapters sub-websites.
    I don’t want them to have access to remove or add posts/pictures on other chapters sub-websites, or even the public pages on the common website.

    Hi @stighetl

    Unfortunately, UM doesn’t have a feature that allows users to Add/Edit pages or post in the front-end. You can enable users to access WP Admin > Pages/Posts with the User Roles with Editor/Contributor capabilities.

    Sorry about the misunderstanding. All administrators for every chapter have access to WP Admin, and will NOT edit pages in the front-end.

    But is it possible to give them access to selected pages only?

    I’m currently developing the website, and will add all the pages before the website goes public.

    Let’s say I add a page called “San Francisco (Main page)”, “San Francisco Blog” and “San Francisco Gallery”.

    Is it possible to give the administrators of San Francisco access to these pages ONLY? So they’re only able to edit these San Francisco pages, and no other pages on the website at all? (I.e the front page, “about us”, “contact us”, etc etc)

    When you say selected pages, did you mean in the front-end or the WP Admin > Edit pages?

    I’m on my phone right now but I will try to explain as best as I can. I mean WP Admin > Edit pages.

    When they enter “Edit pages” they will not be allowed to change the pages “Frontpage”, “About us”, “Contact us”, and so on. But they will be able to edit selected pages I have pre-approved for them, e.g. the administrator of “San Francisco” in this example will be allowed to edit “San Francisco (front page)”, “San Francisco Image Gallery”, and so on.

    Unfortunately, UM doesn’t have content restriction settings in WP Admin. You will have to use third-party plugins to hide/show specific Pages/Settings in WP Admin.

    Hello, champsupertramp,

    I have the same issue. One of my websites is a small community website and I need to allow one person access to one page in the Admin so he can add to and change the content.

    Is this possible with Ultimate Member?
