Could you please provide more details? We try to follow the best SEO practices, for example the listing page has a single H1 (the listing title), multiple H2 (for sections like reviews, details, etc.) and H3 for sidebar widgets. Please remember that HivePress is open-source and we try to improve it with every update, 1-star reviews without detailed feedback really discourage the developers. Thanks!

    Thank you.

What I mean is that the h tags elements are not well-defined for SEO in a format similar to this:

    <h1 class=”site-title”>xyz</h1>
    <p class=”site-description”>Listing Directory Theme</p>

H1 titles seem to be set in the same way, e.g. for listings and posts:

    <h1 class="listing__title">...</h1>
    <h1 class="post__title">...</h1>

Other tags like H2 depend on the post content you set, for listings it depends on the extensions installed (e.g. there will be a “Reviews” H2 if Reviews is installed). You can also try using plugins like Rank Math to adjust the SEO settings for titles and descriptions.

If you notice any issues please feel free to report them on the support forum https://hivepress.io/support/ We listen to the community and update HivePress at least once a month (there will be a major update in 2-3 days), I also hope there’s a chance you can re-consider the review allowing us to improve/fix the reported issues.

    Thanks!

I have downloaded and installed your theme’s new update and I still believe any website with this theme may not rank well on google against competiting directories in relevant niches.

The format of the theme’s h1, h2, and h3 tags for the homepage, pages, and posts are not Google or SEO friendly.

HivePress is an open-source project and it’s powered by the community, if you have any suggestions for improving it or any bug reports please feel free to post them on the forum https://hivepress.io/support/

I still can’t quite understand what’s the issue with the heading tags, please let me know if you have any details that may help to detect this issue and fix it (e.g. some result of a Google SEO tools check, or any details about why the structure is bad now).

The homepage content is empty by default, it’s not defined by HivePress. If you imported demo content, you can simply edit the homepage in WordPress/Pages section and add/remove any headings. It’s almost the same for posts, the post title is H1 (like it should be), the rest is defined by the post content you add.

It’s a pity that a misunderstanding like this results in the first 1-star review for this plugin, our team works 24/7 to improve it and I kindly ask you to report issues or suggest improvements first, whether it’s HivePress or any other open-source software. Thanks.
