    Hello,

I’m experiencing a strange thing, I noticed this just today. When I navigate on my site in french language (it’s the default one), the banner appears normally, but when I change the site to translated version – I use Translate press plugin – the banner for cookies keeps appearing whenever I click on something, change the page, or other.. Not in the default language version, just in translated one. I don’t know if there’s a bug, but something isn’t working correctly. It was working correctly before.

I’d also like to ask you another thing : In the assistant there is a question: “Does your website use third party services ?” I use Hcaptcha (not recaptcha)- but only on my checkout Woocommerce page? Do I need to respond “yes” here? I’m not sure if it places cookies..

Thank you very much for your answer,

    Best regards,

    Barbara

    Hi @barbaree,

Can you try in a private window to check if it’s browser cache? If that helps, please try clearing the cache.

à for reCaptca: Google tracks personal data, so the answer should be yes here.

    Hi @rogierlankhorst,

    Thank you for your feedback.

I have tried to do in incognito window in admin area : that works perfect.

After I went to delete all the cache from my site, went to see in a normal window – not incognito, and even after deleting the cache, it’s still appearing?

Concerning Captcha : I’m using hCaptcha (Intuition machines), not recaptcha from Google. Would this be the same?

    Thank you,

    Kind regards,

    Barbara

    Hi @barbaree,

It’s specific to reCaptcha from Google, so for hCaptcha you can answer “No”.

For your issue, we can’t investigate your URL, but it might be cookies are set on different paths.

Installing this update would clear this; https://github.com/Really-Simple-Plugins/complianz-gdpr/tree/clear-wrong-path-cookies

You can delete the current plugin, install this plugin and the settings remain. If you can post your URL after installation we can have a look as well,

    regards Aert

    Hi @aahulsebos,

Thank you for your reactivity ??

    Great for the hcaptcha plugin.

Otherwise, I have followed your instructions, downloaded the plugin and installed it, but unfortunately is the same thing – at least in admin area. The banner still keeps reappearing on translated version each time, but only in admin mode. When you go to check the live site, normally it doesn’t – I can’t really see it cause it’s still in maintenance, but i think it doesn’t. You can check the url here : puntxka.com

    Thank you very much again,

    Kind regards,

    Barbara

    Hi there again,

I just wanted to let you know the problem is solved now.

I was reading that it had to do something with changing the text ( I did a translation of the cookie banner just before). I have just clicked on cookie settings (the little bar present on the site) and it went away, clicked save on the banner and it’s solved.

Thank you for all your help,

    Best regards,

    Barbara

    Hi there,

It seemed so, but it’s doing it again.

    Hi @barbaree,

It indeed seems to work, and regarding the admin version; do you mean when you’re logged-in or a specific page in your admin area?

    regards Aert

    Hi there,

Yes, it works now.. by magic ??

It was popping up only in admin area, while logged-in, yes. But it seems to be resolved.

Thank you for all your help,

    Regards,

    Hi @aahulsebos,

I thought that this story was finished, but I have just got a notice error in Complianz that says : Uncaught_TypeError:_wp_customize_selectiveRefresh_on_is_not_a_function in wp-includes/js/jquery/jquery_min_js

and suggests an article to read : https://complianz.io/cookie-banner-does-not-appear/

    What should I do? I’m so confused…

    Thank you,

    Regards,

    Barbara

If your banner appears, there is nothing to worry about. Complianz does some error logging from other plugins to allow users to see where possible issues might originate. If you do not experience any issues on your site, it may be a false positive.

You can verify by checking your console in the browser for javascript errors. If there are none, it was a false positive. In most cases the error notice will go away if you load the homepage when logged in.
