    Hi,

After some experimenting with the plugin I started getting “Invalid File ID or File Name.” error message (it was working fine at the beginning). I searched the source code for a clue, but I couldn’t find anything. Have you got any suggestions as to what the problem might be?

It happens when I click on a permalink, e.g. example.com/download/1324/.

    I have tried resetting permalinks.

The problem appeared when I was experimenting with protecting files using SWP Membership plugin.

    Thanks!

I think this is not an error message from Lana Downloads Manager. If you are using another plugin, this may be a compatibility issue.

Can you send me a link where I can see the error? If it is not public, you can also send it by email: [email protected]

I will be happy to help you fix or improve compatibility.

I recommend the following plugin for debugging: Query Monitor

Problem solved, it is not a Lana DM issue at all ?? I’ll post here in case someone else runs into the same problem.

I have been evaluating several different download managers. Soon after installing Lana Downloads manager I installed WP-DownloadManager, and after that (as I worked out later) I started getting the above error message.

So, it’s as you said — a compatibility issue. The error message is coming from WP-DownloadManager, not from Lana Downloads Manager. Later on I will go back to testing (and also working out what the exact problem is), I haven’t had a chance to do so yet.

While uninstalling and installing plugins, I noticed that a new Lana DM installation finds and lists files previously managed by it (if I have been uninstalling it correctly). What do I have to delete (after uninstalling Lana DM) so that I can do a completely fresh new ‘greenfield’ installation of Lana DM?

Um, that’s interesting, there’s a prefix used everywhere:
    post type: lana_download
    function name: lana_downloads_manager
    folder name: lana_download

Maybe the permalink could crash. You just use one download manager plugin and update the permalink:
Settings > Parmalinks > Save Changes (this will reload the permalink setting).
