Can’t set custom courier as default

I use the biggest courier provider in Bulgaria – Econt Express but it’s not on the list so I custom added it. I wrote it’s name in Bulgarian and noticed that when I do that I can’t set it as default. I mark the checkbox “default”, refresh the page and the checkbox is unmarked. I then wrote the name in English and then could save it as default. Is there a problem with setting custom providers as default when the name is not in English?
