    Hello,
I was having the issue of my automated emails going to the client’s spam folder to I downloaded Gmail SMTP plugin, I setup and verified the APi credentials and successfully sent test emails but when I send in a test order no emails are coming from WooCommerce at all. Not in the spam folder either. I completely removed Gmail SMTP and tried WP SMPT instead. Same issue. All settings are correct, API is recognized and Gmail account is verified.

I’ve already reached out to the developers for that app but it does seem to be an issue with WooCommerce specifically, any ideas?

For reference, I am using the Divi theme and builder, WooCommerce for estore. All settings have been checked in terms of email information in each automated email setting as well. They were sending before the SMTP, just going to Spam

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @twomixers,

I could suggest using this plugin to stop your emails from going to spam: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/stop-wp-emails-going-to-spam/
It just saves you from the hassle of having to install an SMTP plugin for this purpose.

Coming back to the issue with the SMTP plugins, kindly enable use WP Mail logging plugin and make a test order to check whether the emails are being sent from WooCommerce in the first place.

Thank you for your response. I will look into this to see if it helps.

I’m confident that the issue is with the SMTP plugin bc the WooCommerce emails were going through before I add the plugin. Something about the SMTP is preventing the messages from going out.

I’m not in love with this solution. The plugin you suggested is untested with updated versions of WordPress. I dont want an incompatible plugin if it’s avoidable

    Hi @twomixers,

Thanks for your reply, it’s good to err on the side of caution. Maybe you could consider testing the plugin on a staging site first.

Further, just to shed some light, if the WP Mail logging plugin shows that WooCommerce is indeed sending the emails but your SMTP plugin is not delivering them, be sure to reach the developer of the SMTP plugin for further checks on the underlying issue.

    Thanks.

Yes. I tried to do this. They saw that I posted here, considered it a “duplicate post” and marked it as solved without offering an answer. I will try again but it seems like SMTP is not going to work with WooCommerce. The SMTP app is working in the test phase, test emails are going out, just nothing from WooCommerce.

I disabled the SMTP plugin and now WooCommerce emails are not going out at all, before they were going out but ended up in the spam folder. Now they dont go out at all. Any ideas there?

    Hi @twomixers,

Thanks for the updates regarding the issue.

If the WP Mail Logging function shows that there are no outgoing emails from WooCommerce, it means that they are not being sent in the first place.

As a first step, kindly check whether each email is enabled at WooCommerce → Settings → Emails as explained here: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/email-faq/#section-3

You’ll then want to make a test order to see whether the WP Mail logging plugin will log outgoing emails from WooCommerce.

I have done all of this, as it says in the original post. All settings have been checked in the Woo settings. The emails were being sent before the SMPT, now they are not going out at all, even after I disable your plugin. Emails are turned on in woo, all email addresses are correct. Test emails for Woo were working are now they are not.

Weirdly. I removed and reinstalled the SMPT plugin, re-ran tests and now it is working. I cannot explain this, but thank you for your assistance during this time. Hopefully this thread helps someone in the future.

Glad to hear that it’s now solved – thanks for letting us know!

Could’ve been a faulty installation causing the issue, we appreciate that you posted how you were able to solve it.

I’ll mark this thread as resolved now. If you have any further questions, I please feel free to create a new thread.
