    Hello,

I am unable to reset the Facebook for WooCommerce plugin. I have no wc_facebook_external_merchant_settings_id table and when clicking on the Uninstall link within the Marketing/Facebook page I get “Uninstall unsuccessful. Please try again.”.

The plugin is not connected anymore and it is not reset. When clicking on “Manage Connection” I get a Facebook page saying:

“This Content Isn’t Available Right Now
When this happens, it’s usually because the owner only shared it with a small group of people, changed who can see it or it’s been deleted.”

I do not have the “Get Started” button.

Installed Facebook for WooCommerce plugin version: 2.3.0

How can I reset the plugin so I can re-create the connection please?

    Thank you in advance!

  • Hi @ndragomir,

You can reset the plugin by installing the following small plugin we’ve created.

This will add a new tool available at WooCommerce > Status > Tools called “Reset Facebook for WooCommerce settings“. Please click the Reset Settings button here, and then navigate back to the Facebook for WooCommerce plugin settings screen to try connecting again!

    I hope this helps!

Hello and thank you for your reply.

I didn’t mention explicitly but I do have the Tools plugin installed. Executing the reset doesn’t reset the plugin.

I have also emptied the wp_config entries belonging to Facebook for WooCommerce, uninstalled the plugin completely and reinstalled it, to no avail. Upon reinstalling the plugin, its state is the same as before uninstalling it (does not have the “Get started” button) except it doesn’t have the Facebook account, shop and pixel credentials anymore. It is not reset either.

Is there another way to properly reset it please?

    Thank you in advance!

    Hi @ndragomir

After using the Uninstall button and the reset plugin, what information are you seeing thereafter?

FWIW, I am experiencing the same issue after uninstall/reinstall and using the Tools plugin to remove Facebook for WooCommerce data.

Immediately following “Reset Facebook for WooCommerce settings,” I return to Marketing > Facebook to find this: https://i.bett.is/8fn0If

Then if I click uninstall, I get the following message: https://i.bett.is/i6V90w

When I try to reconnect, I get the all-to-common, “Oops, something went wrong.”

    I’m just stuck.

@johndcoy executing the tool I get a “No settings to clear” whilst on Uninstall I get “Uninstall unsuccessful. Please try again”.
I have the exact same errors as @h4nd5omer0b above.

    Hello,

I was wondering if there is a solution to this problem. We are currently stuck with this plugin as we can’t reset it, if we uninstall and reinstall it does not reset it either, updating it to the latest version doesn’t fix the problem. We simply can’t re-create the connection.

    Thank you.

    Ok,

Tired of waiting for some form of response from the plugin team I have decided to go all in and do it the hard way.

    1. I have uninstalled the plugin
    2. I have deleted all references to the plugin from the wp_options table
    delete from wp_options where option_name like '%wc_facebook%'
    3. Reinstalled the plugin.

    The result: https://i.imgur.com/I2kZny5.png

    Good luck!

Hi there and sorry it took us a while to return to the thread. Thanks for your patience.

It’s indeed pretty stubborn it seems…

Can you please check these steps here to see if this helps clear the data: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/facebook-for-woocommerce/facebook-for-woocommerce-uninstall-plugin-and-remove-woocommerce-facebook-app/

Let us know how you get on.

Hi @fylgjur, the solution I’ve mentioned above works. I have already fixed it.

    Thank you for your reply!

Ah that’s great to hear and I’m glad you found a solution!

I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.
