• Hello,

Firstly, thank you for this excellent plugin.

I would like to bring your attention to a bug …

To reproduce, if you select “Select” as the type and tick the “Is Required” box, the only way to have a blank field is to leave a blank carriage return at the top of the “Select/Radio Type Options” text area.

This is fine (although it would be good to be able to have a “Select option …” which then forces the uses to choose an item rather than just a blank dropdown box.

The real problem is that when you then edit the product, the first “blank” entry is removed / trimmed and if you don’t remember to add it again the dropdown select then automatically selects the top item and the user isn’t forced to choose an item themselves.

    Please advise.

    Many thanks,

    Oliver

  • Hi @domainsupport

Thank you for appreciating the Plugin.

Regarding a bug with the “Select” type and “is Required” box, where the user isn’t forced to choose an item themselves and automatically selects the top option, that is not a bug/issue but to do that you have to keep the Placeholder value for that field so that the Top item will be the value of the Placeholder and unless the user does not select an item from the option it will not add the product to the cart and will show the input required message.
Here you need to add the value of Placeholder: https://prnt.sc/10csubb

Please check on this and let us know how it goes.

Thank you for your reply. In that case there is an inconsistency with the “Select/Radio Type Options” text area whereby the first time you enter the options you can enter a blank option at the top and it is saved.

If you then edit the product again and save, the blank option at the top is removed.

I will look into adding a placeholder as you suggest instead of using a blank option at the top of the “Select/Radio Type Options” text area.

    Thank you,

    Oliver
