• I have been using the ticker for a few years with no issue.

Now I go into add some text. It takes it fine. I click on UPDATE and now all fields are emptied. The page also is empty – no ticker.

I created a new ticker with the same results. All it does it add more sections in the ticker area. I really only want one long ticker string of text.

I can revert back to yesterday and the ticker is fine. It just wont allow me to update it.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

There could be a couple things going on. It’s possible there is a javascript error on your site that could be causing this, or you may be running into php variable limits.

Are you able to save a new ticker with a small amount of text added to a tick?

To check for javascript errors please follow the instructions here https://www.ads-software.com/support/article/using-your-browser-to-diagnose-javascript-errors/#step-3-diagnosis

Let me know what you find out. Thanks!

I am having this same exact issue. Have been using the ticker for years, all of a sudden when I try to change a ticker and update it, the tickers all go blank and nothing is saved. I do not have any Javascript errors in the console. The same thing happens if I start a new ticker — I click Publish and the ticker goes blank.

The text in my tickers is very short — 3 or 4 words at most. I recently upgraded to WordPress 5.6.2 and I have all caching currently OFF.

I have found no javascript errors.
The ticker doesn’t seem to work with any amount of text. Everytime it breaks, I just revert back to the last working version.

Also had my host check the PHP limits and everything seems fine.

    Any other ideas?

Strangely, if I go into Incognito mode, then delete all the existing ticker items, then add new ones from scratch and click update, that seems to work. I don’t know why I can’t just edit and then update existing entries.

Thanks for the information. With recent updates to WordPress there have been a lot of jQuery updates that still may be causing some issues on your sites. Please run through the following article to see if another plugin or your theme may be causing a conflict: https://www.metaphorcreations.com/article/test-plugin-conflicts/

Please let me know what you find out. Thanks!

I ran tests with my custom theme disabled (set site to Twenty Twelve) and all plugins disabled (except for DNT of course), and tried in multiple browsers. That would lead one to believe that it’s a conflict with the latest core.

@singer74 Thanks for running the tests and letting me know. Based on those results I would normally agree with you, but I have tested and run the plugin on multiple sites without issue. Can you please submit a support request at https://www.metaphorcreations.com/contact/ to discuss this further?

I downgraded WP to 4.6.10 and the plugin works again. I know that’s far from ideal, but my client is happy and I don’t have any more hours to pour into this project at this time. Thank you for your offer of assistance.

Can anyone please send me the old version of this plugin? I am having the same problem. My client is waiting for output.
    Thanks
