Stop dynamic translation of a certain word

Hello,

Is there a way to stop a certain string from being translated dynamically? For instance, I have a list of the board of directors with their names and titles on the English site, but “director” in English may be “directeur” or “directrice” on the French site.

Is there a way to prevent this word from being automatically translated in every instance?
