Blockquote

  • I’ve been using “Blockquote” to double indent paragraphs. (My objective is to indent the paragraph in the left and right margins to “highlight” the text.) The Blockquote feature does this but it also displays a wide, vertical gray line to the left of the paragraph.

    How can I omit the gray vertical line?

  • unless it is a background image, check for ‘border-left’ in the style of your blockquote

    I’m new with WordPress so there’s something I’m missing. But in the HTML view of the page, it reads:

    software companies. . .veteran groups. . .financial offers. . . membership organizations. . .travel clubs. . .fundraisers. . . environmental groups. . .home loans. . .senior organizations. . . insurance. . . and, I’ve even sold motor oil through the mail.

    I don’t see any reference to “border-left.” Could you please tell me where else to look?

    The HTML reference to backquote didn’t copy correctly above. It should read:

    you would need to look into style.css (usually the main css file of the theme) to see if there is a line with .blockquote { ... } and with ‘border-left …’.

    if you post a link to your site, someone could have a look …
    (no need to post any css files)

    Thanks for your help. Making a change in the style.css reference to blockquote did the trick.
